The Vancouver Aquarium is one of the top tourism sites in the city. It's also one of the most popular destinations for families living here as well.
We must have spent hundreds of hours at the Aquarium over the years. The kids had freedom to safely wander and run around in the play area, nurse 'sick' stuffed otters, and identify all kinds of cool and interesting creatures.

As for visiting tips, a lot of people don’t know this but…
1. The peak visiting hours are between 11 AM and 2 PM. Moms & dads should visit early or late, outside of our peak hours to avoid busy crowds.
2. Go midweek (if possible). Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays are much busier than other days.
3. The Aquarium is actually busier on rainy days than sunny days, so if it’s possible, go on a nice day. Enjoy the sun on the beluga deck and avoid the crowd.
4. Aquarium members can avoid busy lineups at the door on weekends and holidays because there is a separate “express line” for members. Members can access the Aquarium anytime within the year so a family membership pays for itself in 2 visits! Members also receive multiple benefits including discounts at the Café & Gift shop, special members-only events, and a special monthly members newsletter. Visit here for more information.
